Abstract:

The presentation will be concerned with exploring and comparing various ethical codes, duties, and responsibilities as implemented by professional organizations, educational institutions, and state licensing regulators. We will discuss the differences between ethical mandates, ethics guidance, and proposed aspirational behaviors intended to benefit society in general. Finally, we will review the potential consequences of failing to adhere to ethical standards from the professional, civil, and criminal perspective.
