Abstract:

Edward discusses growing up in a farming family in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, then going to school at Swarthmore College and the University of Virginia. He talks about his work with the AIDS Support Group in Charlottesville and his involvement with faith groups, specifically the Episcopal Church and Dignity/Integrity in Charlottesville. He also discusses how he met and married his husband. Edward remained at UVA after he completed his graduate studies, and he shares his experiences working at UVA and being part of UVA Pride. He discusses his involvement with other groups, organizations, and events around Central Virginia, including various state and local government commissions, the Q-munity Fair, and more.
