Abstract:

In this interview, Corey Jo Lloyd discusses her experiences as a lesbian who has lived in Charlottesville, VA, since 1978. In particular, she focuses on different queer communities she has created for herself, including through her theatre work with Live Arts. She also discusses her experience as a long-time Montessori teacher and administrator. In addition, she shares her experiences with infertility and queer family-making. She also talks about racism in Charlottesville, Charlottesville Pride events past and present, and some of the past gay bars in Charlottesville.
