Presented at "Digital Mapping and Historical Imagination" Conference at the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe, in Lviv, Ukraine.
This presentation will focus on two separate digital humanities projects at two very different scales: the local and the national. The first project is a mapping of the ghetto and the Janowska camp in Lviv. The second is a larger mapping of the Holocaust in Eastern Europe, particularly in Galicia. The discussion will center around how these were created, the benefits and challenges of a digital approach, and the importance of the application of a digital methodology to the Holocaust.
