Heuristic Clustering of Signature Files: A New Approach (Preliminary Results)

Abstract:
Online full-text databases are placing increasing demands on computing resources. Efficient mechanisms are necessary to manage the storage and retrieval of text in these very dynamic environments. This paper discusses a new approach to clustering signature files which provides excellent retrieval performance at a low computational cost during insertion.
