Summary of ARL Member Institutions Open Access PoliciesPoster
The continuing evolution of the data management world requires a commitment from the research universities to provide open access to their research results. As more funders (NSF, NIH, NEH, and IMLS) require the sharing of the results and the data from their supported research, how are the major research institutions responding to these requirements? This poster will show our survey of the policies of the 99 individual members of the Association of Research Libraries and their parent institutions in the United States to determine the scope and nature of their support. We collected information about their policies, their repositories, the consortium they are part of, and their faculty support of open access initiatives as they pertain to research publications and research data. The compilation of our results will present a snapshot of the current state of open access initiatives in the United States.
